Breakfast on Devin
Ever trying to break out of the network rut (how many lawyers would you want to meet day after day?), I took up Devin Thorpe on his breakfast offer. Other attendees included Ken Krull and Matt Smith of Mercato Partners and Jason Alba of JibberJobber. Had each of us stuck to our own networks,we would likely never have met. Thanks Devin.
Devin's efforts have peaked my curiosity. Jeff Barson has a pretty good summary of how networking really works. The question is, what about a setup where you actually get to sit down with 4-5 people and spend an hour getting to know people who you might not ordinarily meet. I often learn the most from those who I initially think have little in common with me. Is anyone interested in a breakfast or lunch group that randomly pairs up 5-6 people from different industries?
