Don't Advertise What You Don't Have
Sorry, but this is my pet peeve for the week. For the last couple weeks I have been looking at office space in Utah County. Several of my firm's best clients are there and, with Utah County's economy creating global warming, we decided that we should have a market presence behind the Zion curtain.
Because this will initially be a satelite office, our needs are a little unique. 500-700 Square feet in a reasonably nice business environment. To supplement the properties identified by our real estate agent, I have tried going on-line. Over the past two weeks I have spent hours wading through website after website. Put Orem office space or Provo office space in a search engine and you will get hundreds of hits. Unfortunately, many (most) of them do not have office space in Orem, Provo, or even Utah for that matter.
While all of us want traffic and people looking at our sites, directing traffic to your site for items you do not offer seems counter-productive to me. I would go out of my way to avoid dealing with several of these companies who wasted hours of my time working through their websites only to find that they have no listings in Utah County and apparently have never had any.
Getting traffic is hardly a benefit if the people viewing your site are annoyed that you have wasted their time.
PS If you are aware of a reasonably nice space 500-700 sq. ft. in mid-Utah County, please let me know.
