Utah Patent Update, Etc., is moving

When I started blogging at ipthoughts.com I wanted to provide a medium for discussion of intellectual property and business issues without the typical legalspeak.  There are some great IP blogs for attorneys, but those without law degrees would find them a cheap substitute for AMBIEN.

After blogging for a couple of months, someone suggested providing up to date information about patents that had issued to Utah inventors.  While some newspapers list recently issued patents, the lists tend to be nearly a month behind.  Furthermore, you cannot actually look at the patent.  Thus, I created Utah Patent Update to provide information about patents issued to Utah inventors or assigned to Utah companies, along with a PDF of the patent within a day or so of issuance.

The posts were very popular (by my humble standards) and others requested information about patent publications and trademarks.  This led to Utah Patent Application Update, Utah Trademark Update and Utah Trademark Application update.  Each update provides information about what your competitors are up to.

Unfortunately, I feel like the updates have taken over my blog.  I am writing less about business and intellectual property issues, and more about providing competitive information.  To get my blog back - so to speak, I have decided to move the updates to a new location.  Not only can you still see the information, if you find it beneficial you can get email updates for free.  Connect magazine has graciously cosponsored the new site.

Thus, from now on, look for each of the updates at:

I thought the Utah Patent Update was interesting, but I definitely agree that moving it to another site was probably best. Thanks for the updates.
