Yeah, I'm In The Top 4,000,000
A friend shared with me a fun sight. alexa.com allows you to put in a website and see how it it ranks (at least according to Alexa users). My blog ranked 3,623,109. My firm's site ranked 4,189,207.
Alexa is an quick way to see how you compare with your competitors. I plugged in the sites of several of my competitors. One ranked 2,389,319. Another ranked just over 10 millionth. Three others did not even make the list.
Some of our local bloggers have done well. Jordy's mybloglog.com came in at an impressive 790. connectblogs.com came in at 609,983. Blake Snow comes in at 815,989. Chris Knudsen came in at 734,442 and Paul Allen comes in at 229,749.
Its fun to look up your favorite sites and see how they rank.

Be careful of Alexia - the data is only good from a macro view. I've seen connectblogs traffic (just last week. My blog gets more traffic than connectblogs but Alexa shows connectblogs outranking me. So take it with a grain of salt.

I'm afraid that Mybloglog is not me. My blog's Alexa ranking is coming at a fairly sucky 821620.
I should note that I don't put much credence in Alexa.

Yep. Alexa doesn't really have good information anymore.
Try compete.com for a little bit better of an idea.

Jordy needs to take us all out to lunch, unless of course MyBlogLog is one of the Yahoo cuts
None of the third party apps can really gauge the "success" of a site. There are too many metrics, and really something that is hosted on your server is the only real measure of traffic.
And then there are all the non-traffic metrics.

It is a shame to learn that something that looked so useful is less than reliable. The upside of blogging is that there are plenty of other bloggers to disabuse you of misconceptions
